In a teaser from his next Mission: Impossible 7 film, Tom Cruise demonstrated what he dubbed his most risky stunt ever.
Tom Cruise, who is famed for performing his own stunts, rides his motorcycle down a ramp and off a cliff in Norway, letting go in mid-flight before his parachute is deployed.
The clip, plus a documentary of Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie discussing about the feat, were screened at the CinemaCon conference of movie theatre operators and Hollywood studio officials in Las Vegas, entertainment media said.
According to Deadline Hollywood, Cruise remarked in the video, “This is by far the most perilous thing I’ve attempted; we’ve been working on this for years.” “I’ve wanted to do it since I was a child.”
Mission: Impossible 7, in which Tom Cruise reprises his role as suave agent Ethan Hunt, will be released in May 2022, following a year-long coronavirus-affected filming in Italy, Norway, and the United Kingdom.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cruise, 59, prepared for more than a year to perfect the trick, which included 500 skydiving sessions and 13,000 motorcycle jumps. Six times the stunt was filmed.
Tom Cruise has dangled from the side of a plane as it took off, flown a helicopter through small mountain ravines, scaled Dubai’s 2,717-foot-high (828-meter) Burj Khalifa building, and skydived from nearly five miles up in previous films.
