General Qamar Javed Bajwa, the Chief of Army Staff, met with General Eberhard Zorn, the Chief of Defence of Germany, and emphasised the importance of expanding military cooperation between the two countries.

Dr. Detlef Waechter, Director-General for Security and Defense Policy at the German Ministry of Defense, was also present, according to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement released on Friday.

During the meeting, Gen Qamar, who is on an official visit to Germany, discussed issues of mutual interest, the regional security situation, mutual defense and security cooperation, and bilateral cooperation in a variety of fields.

According to the Pakistan Army’s media wing, Gen Qamar stated that the Pakistan Army would like to strengthen bilateral defense collaboration to benefit from German expertise in training and technological breakthroughs.

“It will have a favorable impact on bilateral relations as well as regional security,” it continued.
